Supercharge MobileIron UEM with GPS technology from Fluid Mobility

Since the onset of COVID-19, Fluid Mobility has adapted its GPS technology to create two apps — Fluid Distance and Fluid Trace — to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in workplaces across various industries.

Fluid Mobility realized the need for this technology in the early stages of the initial shutdown. With many organizations across a variety of industries not having the luxury of letting their employees work from home, Fluid Mobility wanted to create something that would allow them to get back to work as quickly and as safely as possible.

The effective and easy-to-manage technology is split into two main components— proximity violation alerts for employees, and a contact tracing reporting tool. For the last six months, these two apps have been making it easier for clients to get back to work in a safe and efficient way. With the ability to personalize and modify the settings to suit each workplace’s specific needs, the software has been successful in various industries, including healthcare, transportation, mining and manufacturing.

Fluid Distance enforces social distancing by issuing an alert when employees are in too close of contact with one another. With Fluid Trace, if an employee tests positive for COVID-19, a report can be generated to show who has been in contact with the infected person (and who has then been in contact with those people, etc.)

In the healthcare sector, the software has helped to reduce the spread of the virus. In the manufacturing industry, which was hit hard by plant and production site closures, the software has made it possible for many companies to get back to work and not close down permanently. In the mining industry, the technology has enabled companies to provide additional safety measures. For example, mining operations in Panama needed proximity solutions that incorporated existing mobile hardware. Fluid Mobility was a natural fit for quick deployment and additional safety measures.

Companies interested in exploring how Fluid Mobility’s technologies can help enhance the safety standards of their workplaces can complete this request form. MobileIron and Fluid Mobility’s teams are happy to customize a plan for each vertical and specific company’s needs.

Fluid Mobility’s solutions seamlessly integrate with MobileIron’s unified endpoint management platform, so organizations can better secure and manage their business data. MobileIron UEM validates every device, establishes user context, checks app authorization, verifies the network, and detects and remediates threats before granting secure access to a device or user. It allows for continuous enforcement and protection of data, both on the device and on the network, resulting in a secure mobile work experience.
