MobileIron Delivers Day Zero Compatibility for macOS Big Sur
Here at MobileIron, we are so excited about macOS Big Sur, which has received a big makeover this year with many exciting enterprise features and support for a transition to Apple silicon for future Mac models.
I’m excited to share that MobileIron offers day zero compatibility and key feature support across its product portfolio for the following macOS Big Sur features:
- Ability to choose if Account can enable user channel management: Now with macOS Big Sur, administrators can choose whether the user account created at device setup enrolls in the MDM user-channel or just the MDM device-channel. MobileIron provides support for this new capability introduced in macOS Big Sur and enables user channel management for MobileIron Admin.
- Supervision for User approved MDM: MobileIron supports this macOS Big Sur feature, where any Mac that is enrolled using User Approved MDM will now be considered a supervised device. MobileIron Admin will have the same controlling capabilities as automated device enrollment, including the ability to replace or remove profiles and install supervised restrictions using MDM commands. MobileIron Admin can also view in-device details if the device is supervised.
- Force delay on non-software updates: With the macOS Big Sur upgrade, the MobileIron Admin has more control on pushing updates with choosing to delay non-software/app software updates on supervised devices.
- Skip options: MobileIron Admin can select “skip option” in order to skip the accessibility pane while in automated device enrollment.
Apart from the above feature support, MobileIron is also working actively to make other new macOS Big Sur features such as Force Software update, Managed Mac Apps and Configs, Assistance with Profile Download Workflow Change available in our upcoming releases so customers can take advantage of the new capabilities.
At MobileIron, we are committed to providing excellent customer service and support. We look forward to helping our customers leverage the powerful updates in macOS Big Sur.
