Smartphone Management Platform Architecture
Smartphone data in the enterprise cloud. This is the core concept of the MobileIron Virtual Smartphone Platform. A central repository contains all data associated with the company’s smartphones. This gives IT, finance, and end-users visibility and control over the smartphone lifecycle that was previously unachievable.

Smartphones are now computers, not just messaging devices. Complete data visibility, including file content and phone activity, is necessary to control the chaos and cost of smartphones. Traditional mobile device management approaches are not enough. Smartphone data must move to the enterprise cloud.

How the MobileIron Virtual Smartphone Platform works:
- The MobileIron appliance is installed in the enterprise data center
- The MobileIron client is deployed over-the-air to the company’s smartphones
- Privacy policies control the cloning of data from the phones to the appliance
- Virtual phones are now available inside the enterprise and always in sync with the actual phones they represent
- The IT administrator accesses the Advanced Management and Mobile Activity Intelligence from a web-based portal. Actions are taken on the virtual phone data and then synchronized to the actual phone(s) when complete
- End users access MyPhone@Work services from a web-based portal or, in future releases, directly from their smartphones.
